RoiettaFulgham4Hello Everyone:

I have finally found time to say hello as the U.S. Chapter President of ISBE. Since July, I have been traveling with friends and family on various trips away from my home in Roseville (which is near Sacramento)—I’ll show you photos later.

First of all, thanks to all my 2014-2015 officers of U. S. Chapter ISBE (and you past officers too) for all you do and have done for ISBE. Congratulations to Tamra Davis-Maxwell for being elected ISBE Director, and the Regional Reps–Cathy Tkacik for Mountain-Plains, Susan Elwood for North-Central, and Joanne Osgood for Western. I’ve talked with Emma Jo Spiegelberg, our secretary, and she is planning to be back active this year. Thank you Mary Risner for continuing as our Membership Director and Max Rittner as our Historian. Special thanks go to my past president, Andrea Pace, because she has been such a calming support for me.

For those of you who attended Helsinki, Finland, SIEC-ISBE conference  this year—we had an “Aino” (pronounced “I know”) experience. I enjoyed all the laughter and learning that went on. The people I met this year and the familiar faces from previous years provided me with exceptional global perspectives and memories.  My notes and photos are great too! I got a lot of ideas for our U.S. Chapter, and I want to thank Dana Gray for volunteering to do some things for ISBE and even listening to my ideas.

I must go now and grade papers, but I’ll send another ISBE message soon. Remember to send any articles for the newsletter to Tamra Davis-Maxwell at tdavis2@ilstu.edu before the end of September.

Visit our website (soon to be updated) at http://www.isbeusa.org. Also go to our Facebook page to keep us informed of your international pursuits!

Roiette Fulgham, ISBE-USA President
